About Monte do Laranjal

Monte do Laranjal is situated at the foothills of Monsaraz, a medieval town in the Alentejo region of Portugal near the border with Spain (16km from Reguengos de Monsaraz and a 40 minutes drive from Évora).

Monte do Laranjal is an old farmhouse, which was used in the past for rearing sheep and cattle and for producing cheese. Though inactive until recently, its century-old buildings were restored by the present owners and converted into what is now a family house, with an area reserved for our guests. Come and stay at Monte do Laranjal, for a genuine experience of the Alentejo, with all the comfort and hospitality you are accustomed to.

The shores of the Alqueva, the largest artificial lake in Europe, are a mere 800 metres away, allowing for unforgettable walks, boat rides, fishing and many other water activities.

We also have a certified organic vegetable production, an orange grove and many fruit trees. We do all this without resorting to chemicals.
